As we know, the 2023 World Cup will be in India after 12 years. And no doubt! The expectation from the Indian team will be very high from the Indian fans as they are favorites for the World Cup. It will be the first time Men in Blue will solely be hosting the World Cup without any other country on the Indian subcontinent. This news by the BCCI was one of the top Cricket news headlines in the world when India announced their 2023 schedule for the World Cup.

Let's know about the 2023 Team preparations and expectations, which we can see from the top teams in the world:

Australia: The Australian team won the most number of World Cups. It is one of the reasons why most of the team fears facing the Kangaroos in the World Cup. Team Australia carries an exceptional record in the World Cup. Even though the team was not in good form before the start of the tournament, we witnessed the Australian team become a different team when it was World Cup time.

The Australian team have won 5 World Cups till now. 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015 was the last world cup that was won by the Australian Men's team. However, in the World Cup 2019, Australia was unable to reach the finals. They lost the match against England by 8 Wickets in the 2019 semi-finals. Although, the tournament favorites are ready for the 2023 World Cup to win their Sixth World Cup and make it a top sports headline in the World.

The road to the World Cup for Australia has already started with IPL 2023, where most of the Australian players participated under different IPL franchises to understand the pitch conditions in India. After the over of the IPL, they met the 2023 World Cup hosting team for the World Test Championship Finals at Lord and defeated the Indian side by a margin of 209 runs, showing their dominance on the International stage. However, the Australian team will be coming for a 3-match ODI series in September on Indian soil.

England: The defending champions will be ready for their second World Cup title in the 2023 World Cup at Indian Soil. However, it would not be easy for the defending champions to win the title in India. Due to their records in India, they had lost the finals of the T20I World Cup 2016 against the Caribbean when Captain Strokes got hit 4 sixes on the night of finals at Kolkata, which became global latest cricket news all around the world.

The England team will be coming up with a well-balanced team and a strong batting line-up for the 2023 World Cup Their preparations will involve refining their bowling attack and building depth in their batting order, along with adapting to the unpredictable Indian conditions.

New Zealand: New Zealand has a superb history in the recent editions of the World Cup. They have consistently been strong in the group stages of the tournament and when it comes to the knockout phase, they always have the ability to create an upset. The New Zealand cricket team reached the World Cup final on 2 occasions in 2015 and 2019, where they lost against the Kangaroos and won against the Men in India in the 2019 semi-finals.

The 2023 preparations have already started for the Kiwis and with their main man Kane Williamson out of the World Cup due to injury, every player in the team will have to play to their maximum potential if they need to be triumphant this time. To make sure they have a stable 11 ahead of their 1st match in the World Cup against England at Ahmedabad, New Zealand has a 4-match ODI series against England scheduled just before the tournament starts. This series is going to be great for them as they can test out their new batting order without the experienced Kane Williamson.

India: India, known for its cricketing ability, enters the competition as one of the favorites to win the World Cup title. They're aware of the pitch condition and weather conditions, which can change the probability of winning the match on Indian soil.

With the Run Machine Kohli back in form it will be a major advantage for India to win the 2023 World Cup. The blend of experienced players and emerging talents, India has a well-rounded team capable of dominating all three departments of the game. Their preparations will focus on strengthening their middle-order batting and finding the right balance between youth and experience in their squad.

Bangladesh : Bangladesh, a rising power in world cricket, will be anxious to leave an imprint on the World Cup. With a team of talented players, they will be working on their consistency and adjusting to Indian circumstances.

Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka turned into the principal group to meet all requirements for the 2023 World Cup in the ICC CWC 2023 Qualifiers. The Asian team will be prepared to rehash the exhibition of 2011 World Cup, where they arrived at the 2011 finals against Men in Blue and were crushed by six wickets.

Afghanistan: It would not be wrong to say that the Afghanistan team is the team that has improved their game day-by-day in every match, every series from not being an ICC member and being unable to qualify for the 2011 world cup to being the first team to defeat Bangladesh at their Den and winning the series by 2-0 they have come a long way.

Pakistan: Pakistan have had a rich history and solid performances in the tournament since its inception, known for their unpredictability, they have had some great moments in the tournament with the most notable being the 1992 World Cup where they won the tournament under the captaincy of Imran Khan.

Pakistan's strategy ahead of the 2023 World Cup would be to take advantage of their strong batting and bowling which involves the likes of no.1 ODI batsmen Babar Azam & the fiery Shaheen Afridi. The one thing they will have to focus on will be their fielding which has often let them down. Overall with a talented bunch of players, they aspire to compete against the world's best and aim to win the tournament for the 1st time in more than 30 years.

Netherlands: Netherlands is the only team that could surprise any team in the 2023 World Cup after their astounding performance in the ICC CWC qualifiers, where they defeated the 2 times World Cup champions West Indies in the Qualifiers round to qualify for the 2023 World Cup.

The spirit of the Netherlands team will be very high in the 2023 world cup as they have come a long way by defeating the top teams of the World in the ICC CWC 2023 Qualifiers.

South Africa: The Proteas is always a great team on paper. But the South Africa team has had a mixed history in the Cricket World Cups. They have consistently been a strong team, but have faced challenges in reaching the pinnacle of the tournament.

In their first appearance in 1992, they reached the semi-finals but were eliminated in a rain-affected match against England. Not only that! They faced a heartbreaking exit in the 1999 edition as well when a tie against Australia in the semi-finals resulted in their elimination due to a lesser net run rate.

South Africa has been working on rebuilding their team and addressing their challenges. They have focused on nurturing young talent under the leadership of Quinton de Kock.
